Concerts and shows to check out this Memorial Day weekend in New York 2017
The Memorial Day holiday is upon us and many are trying to figure ways to get out and celebrate this weekend. In the New York area, there are a number of great events going on over the next four days. There are a number of great concerts featuring a wide variety of genres that are guaranteed to satisfy everyone. Here are just a few options.
Pixies at Brooklyn Steel

Alternative rockers The Pixies will be playing a show in Brooklyn Friday night at Brooklyn Steel. The band is still out touring behind last year’s Head Carrier album and they have brought a new bassist, Paz Lenchantin, out with them. The show will also feature a performance from Cymbals Eat Guitars. Tickets for the show are available through AXS. The event is for those 16 years old and over and tickets start at $65.
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds at Kings Theatre

Australian rock band Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds will be in Brooklyn on Saturday when they take the stage at Kings Theatre. Their experimental rock always makes for a unique show. The band will be playing some tracks from their 2016 release Skeleton Tree, as well as tracks from their other fifteen studio albums. Tickets for the show are available through AXS. The event is all ages and tickets start at $99.
Busta Rhymes at Stage 48

EXPG Studios is presenting their House of Exile event Stage 48 on Saturday. The show will feature Busta Rhymes alongside Mobb Deep, Tinashe and Ayo and Teo. There will also be some rap battles and dance showcases and the event will be hosted by Cebo. Tickets for the show can be purchased here. The show is all ages and tickets start at $30.
Bruce Hornsby at City Winery

Singer/songwriter/pianist Bruce Hornsby will be taking the stage at the City Winery alongside his band The Noisemakers on Monday. They are out touring behind their 2016 release Rehab Reunion. Tickets for the show can be purchased here. Tickets start at $75.
Morbid Angel at Gramercy Theatre
