American swimmer rescued by coach at World Championships

An American synchronised swimmer Anita Alvarez has been rescued by her coach mid-event at the World Aquatics Championships.

Ms Alvarez stopped breathing during her routine and sank to the bottom of the pool.

Her coach dived in and pulled the 25-year-old to the surface – Ms Alvarez is recovering and doing well.
