Arsenal vs Wolves postponed due to coronavirus spike – Sports Africa

Arsenal’s hopes of continuing their fine run in the Premier League has been dealt a blow after their game against Wolves was postponed.

After hitting Norwich for five on Boxing Day, the Gunners were to face Wolves on Tuesday, December 28, at the Emirates but the  game was suspended with the Bruno Lage side ravaged by coronavirus, leaving him with an extremely lean squad.

“The Premier League Board accepted the postponement application as Wolverhampton Wanderers does not have the required number of players available for the match (13 outfield players and one goalkeeper) as a result of a number of Covid-19 cases and injuries at the club,” said the Premier League in a statement.

Wolves’ long list of casualties includes Hwang Hee-chan, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Willy Boly, Pedro Net, Jonny Castro Otto and Yerson Mosquera.
