Earth’s message to space ‘more ceremonial than anything’

ANU astrophysicist and cosmologist Dr Brad Tucker says the possibilities extraterrestrial beings will concentrate to and decode a radio message to the celebrities is “slim at best”.

In 1974, American scientists despatched the Arecibo message to house, pronouncing there may be lifestyles on earth. Now, the message has been despatched once more – this time via NASA – and incorporated extra actual instructions on learn how to to find Earth.

Dr Tucker stated the message is “almost more ceremonial than anything”.

“It’s more a sign, almost like an academic point, that if there’s another civilisation wondering ‘are they alone’, at least they know ‘hey, there is another civilisation out there’,” Dr Tucker informed Sky News Host Andrew Bolt.
