Eliud Kipchoge launches Cycling Academy in Kaptagat – Sports Africa

Double Olympic champion Eliud Kipchoge in partnership with INEOS has expanded his Kaptagat-based training camp to a cycling academy bearing his name in Kenya’s Rift Valley.

Commenting on the latest development, the world marathon champion said the institution will help the young and talented cyclists further their cycling skills.

“I’m proud that we are expanding our Kaptagat based training camp from a purely athletics focused training camp towards a wider kind of sports academy,” Kipchoge said.

“The INEOS Eliud Kipchoge Cycling Academy is a very natural fit with great potential to enable our young talented cyclists to make the next steps towards the top level of cycling.”

Eliud Kipchoge is the 2016 and 2020 Olympic marathon winner. He set the world record in the marathon with a time of 2:01:39 at the 2018 Berlin Marathon.

His run broke the previous world record by 1 minute and 18 seconds.He is widely regarded as the greatest marathon runner and one of the greatest sportsmen in history of the sport.
