France’s philosopher king searches for worthy problems

Mere days into his new presidency, and Emmanuel Macron is already demonstrating he has misplaced none of his towering ambition.

Speaking to the European Parliament in Strasbourg, Macron – in the middle of a struggle at the European continent, don’t omit – proposed a new political neighborhood for the continent, to take a seat along the European Union. A neighborhood, he mentioned, that “would adhere to our values to find a new space for political cooperation,” and could be open to these no longer but within the EU and those that had left.

It’s no marvel whom he was once speaking about: Ukraine, a rustic determined to be let into the EU, and the United Kingdom, which just lately stormed out.
