The Hindu festival of Holi, also known as the Festival of Spring or the Festival of Colors, was celebrated across India on March 18, but without the pandemic-related restrictions that had constrained festivities over the previous two years. This footage from Noida, a city in India’s northern Uttar Pradesh state, shows jubilant crowds dancing and cheering. Many people are shown covered in multi-colored paints and powders – a central custom of the festival – and getting sprayed down with water. In 2021, many states, including Delhi, banned large gatherings on Holi amid soaring cases of COVID-19, the BBC reported. Credit: Joyeeta Basu via Storyful
