Businessman Ismael Mohammed Ibrahim is the winner of the Twende Euro na Melbet competition.
Mohammed was unveiled in a colourful ceremony in Nairobi on Thursday morning and presented with a KES500,000 cheque by Melbet Kenya managing director Henry Omollo.
The winner was to be rewarded with a trip for two to watch the 2020 Euro Finals. However, this was not possible due to travelling restrictions as a result of the Covid-19 Pandemic.
“We resorted to give Mohammed a cash reward as the Afrca Cup of Nations trip we had decided to replace the EURO trip with, was also impossible due to same Covid-related restrictions on travels,” said Omollo.
An elated Mohammed said that he could not believe it at first even after receiving a call from Melbet.
However all his doubts were cast aside when he was presented with the cheque.
He promised to use the money to expand his business. “I’m happy for the win, it is unbelievable. I thought it was a scam. However I have now confirmed that indeed this was a genuine and legitimate competition. I am going to use the money to expand my business,” said Mohammed.
Omollo assured their clients and general public of better and more unique upcoming promotions and products, whilst continue giving them a great betting experience in their platforms.
“We promise our clients more promotions and better offers this year, we will continue to support our local sports industry and we urge all those who need our support to reach us out,” assured Omollo.
To take part in the competition, one was required to place bets using the Melbet App between April and May of 2021.
Each bet wagered on the APP gave one a single entry to the competition, customers were encouraged to place as many bets as possible to enhance their chances of winning.
