Scott Morrison issues challenge to morph Sydney into a ‘great city’

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has challenged the NSW government to “lift” their vision to shape Sydney into a “great city”.

Speaking at the Daily Telegraph’s Bradfield Oration, the Prime Minister also hailed Western Sydney Airport as a bridge for Sydney to an even stronger economy.

“The Bradfield Oration challenges us to think of the Sydney of the future, to lift our vision and to imagine what our great city could be, to reflect on how we can shape our cities here and around in Australia and indeed how our cities indeed shape us,” he said.

“As Bradfield bridged the Harbour, so too are we bridging the future.

“We’re partnering together on just so many fronts to build and make our city great. One of those is Western Sydney Airport, and the aerotropolis that is now taking shape.

“This airport is a bridge to Sydney’s future, and a bridge for Sydney to the world and a bridge to an even stronger economy in Western Sydney.”
