South Aussie Hotel in Mount Gambier temporarily closes due to new COVID restrictions

South Aussie Hotel Venue Manager Joseph Ratcliffe says his venue has temporarily closed due to the new COVID restrictions introduced in South Australia.

It comes after South Australia imposed the one person per four square metres rule on hospitality venues in response to the Omicron variant of COVID-19.

“With the public holiday being today and tomorrow, wages being $50 plus and the restrictions only allowing 40 people in my venue at any time, it simply wasn’t worth opening,” he told Sky News host Caleb Bond.
