Wildfire Smoke Darkens Sky Over New Mexico Town of Angel Fire

Wildfire smoke darkened skies over portions of northern New Mexico on Wednesday, May 11, because the Calf Canyon-Hermit Creek Fire persisted to burn 24 days after being reported. On Thursday, officers stated the hearth had burned via 260,000 acres and was once 29-percent contained — down from the 33-percent containment reported an afternoon prior. More than 1,800 group of workers have been assigned to the hearth, they stated. Local media on Wednesday stated the blaze was once the second one biggest hearth within the state’s historical past.
